The part where the old man breaks down "Im not fit to be a senator, Im not fit to live" . . . I wonder if current politicians watch these classics like Mr. Smith, and feel a tinge of guilt. You don't see films with this level of integrity any more, unless it's a remake. I think it's really weird that with all the crazy things going on there aren't more movies about fixing the government.
